Useful Console Commands

/console screenshotQuality 10 accepts a value from 1 to 10. This is the JPEG encoding quality that is used when a screenshot is saved in your World of Warcraft\Screenshots directory. Note that increasing this value will mean the files saved use more disk space.

Link an item in a Macro

Every wondered why you cant shift-click an item to link it in a Macro?
When you try it only puts the name of the item into the Macro rather than a clickable link.
To properly link an item into a Macro here is what you need to do:

1. Create your macro like normal, but leave a space for the item link to go into
2. Place your cursor at the point in the macro that you want to add the item link
3. Press the Esc key once, followed by Enter to open your chat/command box
4. Type or copy the following into the chat box /script MacroFrameText:Insert("")
5. Using the left arrow key, move your cursor back two spaces so it is between the two "" characters
6. Now shift-click the item to link it into your chat box between the two "" characters
7. It should look similar to this /script MacroFrameText:Insert("[Shadowmourne]")
8. Now press Enter
9. The link should have been added into your macro at the point you left your cursor

Power Auras addon guide

Power Auras is one of the most flexible, useful and underutilized addons around. With an impressive number of configuration options you can set it up in more ways than you can imagine.
The core of the addon is essentially configurable triggers based on a variety of in-game events and statuses, which then display customizable images or text on your screen.

To create a power aura, first install and enable the addon.
When you have logged in, type /powa to bring up the interface and start creating your UI.
You can create auras for your entire account or just for the character you are on.
Click create to create a new aura or edit to edit a previously created aura.
Now the edit interface appears. At first this interface can be overwhelming but once you have used it a few times you will become quite familiar with it.

Importing and Exporting Power Auras

Power Auras has the ability to import and export auras using a specially formatted string.
To export an aura, click on it – then click the Export button and copy the text from the box provided.
To import an aura, click on the Import button – then paste the import text into the box provided.

Here are a few auras you can use:

Mage

Display a warning for Molten Armor missing

Display a warning for Arcane Brilliance/Arcane Intellect/Dalaran Brilliance missing

Display notification for Hot Streak buff (with sound)

Display notification for Living Bomb missing on enemy target (with sound)

Professions: Alchemy

Alchemy is my go-to for making money on Molten Wow’s WoTLK servers. The trick to making a large amount of money from Alchemy is to have lots of Alchemists. I currently have 45 Alchemists which earn me around 1 million gold a week.

The first step towards this of course levelling Alchemy. To level Alchemy to max (450) your character will need to be level 65 or higher.

This guide has been created by me for use on Molten Wow’s Ragnaros WoTLK server. It is important to note that at the time of writing Ragnaros gives you 5 levels for each skill up and this guide has been created specifically for that.

Shopping List First up you need to go shopping! Here is the list of items you need and the quantities you will need.

NOTE: There are 4 recipes (shown in red and marked with **) you will make while they are on yellow (50% chance of gaining a skill level) during this guide. Each of those recipes I have allowed enough mats to created 5x when you only need 1 skill level.

Once you have all the items in the shopping list, it’s time to go to work. My preference is to start in Ironforge but you may wish to begin your training elsewhere (especially if you are Horde!)

And take a breath! You just levelled most of the way to being an Alchemist.
Now you need to head off to Outland. The best way to get there is to take the Portal to Blasted Lands, then run through the Dark Portal.

And that’s it for Outland, now head to Tanaris. The fastest way to get there is Hearth to Dalaran (if Dalaran isn’t your home, it should be) then run up the stairs in The Violet Citadel and turn left at the top, the take the portal to the Caverns of Time. Take the trek up to Gadgetzan and buy the Philosopher’s Stone recipe. Once you have it, train it and head back to Dalaran (you can use unstuck if your hearthstone is on cooldown).

The Dalaran Alchemy trainer is located in the center of the Magus Commerce Exchange (where all the other trainers are).
